Loyalty
It pays to be a loyal Cunard customer. After you've been on at least one cruise, you can get 5% off any subsequent fares (deal honoured on most bookings).
Choosing the right room
Getting your choice of stateroom right is crucial as, unlike many other ships, this will also determine where you dine onboard.
Here are the four options available:
- Britannia - offer king sized beds and a bottle of sparkling wine, with the option of inside, ocean view or balcony rooms.
- Britannia Club - in addition, they also include tea and coffee, a pillow menu and a balcony in all their rooms.
- Princess Grill - these rooms also have have concierge included in the price.
- Queens Grill - these premium rooms come with a butler, complimentary mini bar and nightly canapés. They are huge, with separate living quarters and sweeping staircases.
Each of the four tiers have their own dining spaces included in the package.
Auto-upgrade
When you book, be sure to tick the auto-upgrade box and you may be happily surprised upon boarding. This is most likely for customers who have booked early. This offer isn't for you if you want to pick a specific room location. If you are upgraded, the location of your room will be pre-set with no degree of choice. If you, however, are not fussy about location, there is a chance you could get a great bargain on a better room.
The early bird gets the excursions
Cunard are well known for their excellent range of the excursions, with everything from food adventures to nature explorations. They can sell out quickly so be sure to log into the ‘My Cunard’ area once you've booked to get your first choices. If your looking to save, remember you can also go out independently, just make sure you return to the ship well in advance of the final call.

Room service
A great perk of sailing with Cunard is the free room service for all guests. This is a rare treat on a cruise line and works especially well on these boats. Cunard ask all guests to be formally dressed in public areas after 6pm and so if you'd prefer a relaxed evening, room service is a great option. If you plan to use this service regularly, factor this into the overall spend as room service can be costly with other companies.
No corkage
Another bonus of sailing with Cunard is their lack of corkage fee for in-room consumption. This means you're able to stock up on alcohol before you leave port and save money at the bar. Your own bottle of wine is the perfect pairing with your free room service dinner.
Added extras
The ‘My Cunard’ area is the place to go to book all extras before your trip. Here, you can secure spa treatments, speciality dining, drinks packages and WiFi. These can also be brought onboard but are slightly cheaper online so get prepared before you sail.
