Tips for activities

  • Book in advance as some activities, especially the water park, can sell out before the day. This can be done with the Royal Caribbean Cruise Planner.
  • If you have younger kids, the free slides will suit them better than those you pay for in the Thrill Park. You can find these in Splashaway Bay.
  • Take closed-toe shoes if you plan on riding the zip wire.
  • Book the Up, Up and Away helium balloon ride as early in the day as possible. This should be the period of calmest weather and so you're most likely to reach its full height.
  • There's a height limit on the Thrill Park slides. To access some of them, you need to be over 42 inches and to ride them all, over 48 inches.
  • Don't queue for the slides in the middle of the day. Between 11 and 3 is peak time, so head to this area before or after to skip the wait.
  • Snorkeling fans can bring their own equipment and use the snorkeling area without charge.

Tips for food and drink

  • Have breakfast before you disembark the ship as food on the island is only served from lunchtime onwards (except in the private Coco Beach Club).
  • There's a secret sandwich at the Snack Shack. Ask for a Chicken Parmigiana and they'll combine their chicken burger with mozzarella sticks and marinara sauce - the perfect lunch.
  • Captain Jack's serves the most authentic food in the area and so is the best option if you want to sample the local flavours.
  • Take a reusable bottle for free water and juice for everyone through the day.

Extra tips from us to you

  • You'll need your SeaPass card to get back onboard the ship and when paying for additional items on the island (except gratuities and anything from the market).
  • Take the trams that navigate the island to save time and energy.
  • There are lockers near the entrance of the Thrill Park and zip line, which are free to use for the day.
  • Big groups going to the Thrill Park should consider hiring a cabana. The fee includes tickets for the park for up to six people and so it makes the extra cabana charge relativity cheap.
  • Harbour Beach is the best one for children as it's close to both the ship and Splashaway Bay.
  • Head to South Beach to avoid the crowds. As its further into the island, a lot less people visit, but there's still a great atmosphere with the bar and music playing. Chill Island is even calmer and the place to go if you would prefer very little noise.
  • If you're looking for the opposite and craving a party vibe, head to Hideaway Beach with live DJs and a swim-up bar.
  • The WiFi package works on the island too so it's worth taking your phone if you want to make your family back home jealous.
